Interview of Soon Chiang Ong (famous badminton player in Malaysia)—arm and knee injury, bone fragments in the foot, weakness heart and difficulty breathing

Soon Chiang Ong was once a part of the Malaysian national badminton team. He won the World Police/Firefighters Games in badminton and eventually retired as an athlete and began coaching the National South Korean Badminton team. I was 17 years old when I first sought out Dr. Liu’s help, I wasn’t yet able to make the national team of Malaysia. I injured my arm during training and could not lift it. I could no longer undress myself. Dr. Liu treated me only once and I was as good as new. Actually I received the treatment from him in the afternoon and went out the play badminton the very same evening. I was completely fine… it felt like a miracle.

My second injury involved my knee. Every time I hit my knee on something I was in excruciating pain. The pain was so intense I was brought to tears every time. This was fixed with 2 treatments by Dr. Liu.

My third injury involved my foot. At this time I made it into the national team. During training I twisted and sprained my foot badly. During a tournament I was carried out by my team mate to the hospital. After taking many images of my foot they found bone fragments in my foot. The doctors at the hospital told me that I must operate. The national team physician agreed that if I didn’t operate on my foot then I wouldn’t be able to compete. I did not go through with the operation, instead I sought out Dr. Liu. He treated me once and I was perfectly fine. No need for an operation. I was 19 then and now I am 27 and I have yet to feel this injury return.

Fourthly was my heart and respiratory issues. Last year I felt my heart begin to weaken and breathing started to become difficult. I was a badminton coach yet I was avoiding getting onto the court to demonstrate. I’d been off the badminton court for a year already. I couldn’t catch my breath on the court and felt dizzy, so dizzy that I couldn’t feel anything. This year my sleep quality began to deteriorate. After the Hong Kong Open I felt that sleeping became very difficult. I developed severe sleep apnea and was afraid that if I fell asleep I may stop breathing. I was awakened twice before because I could not breathe. It lasted over 40 seconds, the feeling of not having any oxygen. After a medical examination the doctor determined it was nothing but a slight case of asthma. After breathing oxygen I felt a little bit better but this isn’t a solution and I did not find the cure for my issues. By the time I saw Dr. Liu, I had lost quite a bit of weight, I had no appetite, and ate very little. I was also very irritable. After my first treatment on one side of my body, I immediately felt that I could breathe better on that side. The second treatment treated the other side of my body and on that same evening I slept so much more comfortably. I felt like I was completely relaxed. Afterwards while I was teaching badminton, I could finally demonstrate on court for a couple hours each time without an issue. 3 weeks later I entered the Malaysian Open. At that time I had already left the national team for 5 years and hadn’t been under any kind of rigorous training. The rivals in the international competition is a very strong South Korean team. My partner was breathing so heavily by the end of the game he wanted to vomit yet I was fine, huffing and puffing from the intensity of the game, but nothing out of the ordinary.
