1. Epilepsy

  • Epilepsy
Epilepsy is a central nervous system disorder in which nerve cell activity in the brain becomes disrupted, causing seizures or periods of unusual behavior, sensations and sometimes loss of consciousness. The symptoms can vary widely. Some people with epilepsy experience onset for a few seconds which goes unnoticed while others repeatedly twitch for a long time. The repeated attack is the result of the hyperactive or abnormal function of the cerebral cortical neurons. Every aspect of life and work may be affected in patients of severe epilepsy.

2. Pain

  • Athletic injuries
Includes accidental injuries or cumulative injuries resulting from extreme training in sports, of which the majority are ligament and cartilage injuries which cause the joints to loosen or displace. These injuries recur while playing the sport because they cannot be cured completely. They will gradually evolve into old injuries. In fact, any old injuries occurring in the waist and legs will restrict the abilities of talented athletes back to that of ordinary people, or worse. This is the main reason why so many talented athletes suddenly deteriorated or were forced into early retirement. Amateur sports enthusiasts also have had to give up their favorite kind of sports because of old athletic injuries.Common types of athletic injuries:

    • disc herniation
    • lumbar muscle strain
    • torn ligament on arms or legs
    • cartilage injury
    • squeezed sciatic nerve
    • knee or shoulder joint injuries
    • tennis elbow

The basic symptoms of these injuries are:

    • sour pain
    • weakness
    • pulling pain
    • irresistible pulling sensation

    [ Cases ]

  • Refractory headache
It can occur in any part of the head. In general, common sites are:

    • the back of the head (probably also affecting the ears)
    • around the temple
    • the top of head or forehead (affecting one or both eyes)

It can also be divided into two forms, regular and irregular. It is generally more likely to happen when tired because of poor sleep or staying up all night. The onset may be accompanied by:

    • refractory electric shock pain
    • sharp pain
    • throbbing pain
    • radioactive pulling
    • the feeling of swelling and heaviness in the head
    • a sense of numbness on the head

If it is serious, symptoms may include:

    • nausea, which may include vomiting
    • photophobia
    • fear of noises
    • impatience

During headache episodes, patients would hate moving since any movement might aggravate the headache.

Headache attacks of varying duration may occur, which can last for between several hours to many days. There are many causes of refractory headache, but they can be diagnosed by us. Cervical syndrome is one of the most important causes of headache.
    [ Cases ]

  • Gastritis and abdominal pain
Many kinds of food cannot be enjoyed. Symptoms include:

    • constant abdominal bloating and pain
    • recurrent upset stomach
    • burning or gnawing feeling in the stomach
    • a feeling of something present inside the stomach, like a gastric ulcer

It can be a regular onset or an irregular onset. Many patients also have gastric acid reflux and feel tired easily.
    [ Cases ]

  • Abdominal bloating (including stomach and lower abdomen)
Many kinds of food cannot be enjoyed. Symptoms include:

    • constant gastric distention and stomach pain
    • the abdomen feels uncomfortably full and gaseous even when not containing food

Patients also experience symptoms similar to that of gastroptosis and tiredness. Many of them have gastric acid reflux as well and this can affect the quality of sleep in a serious way.
    [ Cases ]

  • Necrosis of femoral
Mostly occurs between the femoral head and hipbone. There is cartilage degradation due to excessive wear. The outside of the hip joint may feel a tingling, sour pain and pulling pain. If it gets more serious, it may affect the outside of the leg or even down to the knee joint. Movement and walking may be affected. Office staff, golf enthusiasts and people who have had accident trauma (e.g. car accidents) are usually susceptible to this disease.
    [ Cases ]
  • Knee joint arthritics
    It includes:

    • bursitis
    • ligament injury
    • patella injury
    • cartilage degeneration
    • bone spurs
    • meniscus injury (such as tear or wear)
    • bone chips or loose bodies inside the knee joint
    • soft tissue calcification or hardening
    • popliteal cyst
    • knee varus or valgus

The symptoms in the knee are swelling and redness which may be accompanied by:

    • fever
    • sour pain
    • swelling pain
    • pulling pain
    • tenderness
    • radioactive pain
    • stiffness
    • chills
    • weakness
    • difficulty squatting

Patients may feel considerable pain while performing certain motions through certain angles, have difficulties while going up and down of stairs or more seriously, experience much difficulty and pain while walking.
    [ Cases ]

  • Frozen shoulder
Also known as adhesive capsulitis, it is a sclerosis (calcification) caused by overwork or trauma to the shoulder joint. It is characterized by stiffness and pain in the shoulder joint. When moving the arm through certain angles, there could be a sensation of a pricking pain, pulling pain or radiating pain. The arm movement would be limited. In general, when lifting the arm up some degree, there may be an obvious pulling pain. Most patients feel more serious pain at night, which can even affect their sleep. The limb experiencing a frozen feeling may develop a disability. For example, you may be unable to wash your teeth and face or eat by yourself. If the signs and symptoms are mild, you could relieve the pain or recover by doing some exercises by yourself. If it is severe, you will have to receive the right treatments instead of only working on it by yourself.
    [ Cases ]
  • Tennis elbow
Elbow ligament and cartilage are injured at the same time so that the soft tissues suffer adhesion and calcification. The sour, pulling and pain of elbow joint occur when the arm moves through certain angles. Severe conditions prevent patients from gripping a cup of water. Pain and weakness result from wrist movements.
    [ Cases ]
  • Tenosynovitis
Repeated use of the wrist to do certain activities and long-time over stretching lead to tendon sheath and ligament damage. One or more points of pain or swelling occur on the wrist (up or down). The wrist joint cannot exert force when moving up or down. In severe cases, patients are unable to hold onto a cup of water or a pen to write.
    [ Cases ]

3. Spondylopathies

  • Lumbar disc herniation (internal or external protrusions)
A herniated lumbar disk can irritate nearby nerves and may result in:

    • pulling, sour pain, or radiating pain
    • numbness and/or weakness in the lower limbs
    • walking with a non-congenital limp
    • one leg feeling shorter
    • no force while passing urine and stool
    • difficulty walking may occur in severe cases.

Some postures may irritate the lumbar region and cause the leg to feel much pain.
    [ Cases ]

  • Lumbar spinal canal stenosis
    The symptoms include:

    • persistent pain in the lumbar sacro area
    • thigh or lower extremity pain
    • unilateral or bilateral gradual weakness and numbness in the lower extremities
    • intermittent sense of stiffness and disjointedness in the lumbar area
    • not able to walk for a long time
    • a sense of restraint or pulling pain in groin
    • walking difficulty
    • and so on

The patient may feel normal while at rest, but the onset of abnormal feelings may occur after walking for a while. Patients have to stop walking and rest for a moment (squat or sit down) to alleviate these uncomfortable feelings. However, in critical cases, patients are unable to stand up straight and pain occurs right away even when moving slightly. They are unable to find a position where the leg can feel comfortable.
    [ Cases ]

  • Sciatica Nerve pain
As the root of the sciatic nerve is squeezed, the following symptoms may be produced:

    • sour pain
    • pulling pain
    • radiating pain
    • sharp pain
    • tingling
    • leg weakness
    • leg and hip joint stiffness
    • numbness may occur on hip joint, buttocks or lower extremities

    [ Cases ]

  • Lumbar bone spurs
Lumbar bone spurs result from overworked lumbar muscles and hyperosteogeny. It may squeeze the nearby blood vessels and nerves, producing a series symptoms like:

    • pulling pain
    • radiating sour pain
    • numbness and weakness

    [ Cases ]

  • Cervical syndrome
Degradation and deformation of ligaments and cartilages leading to:

    • neck stiffness
    • narrow range of rotation
    • neck and shoulder soreness
    • pain and/or pulling

The above may be accompanied by:

    • headache
    • dizziness
    • a heavy head feeling
    • a heavy back of the head and a feeling of swelling in the head
    • poor sleep
    • memory loss
    • difficulty focusing
    • decreased vision
    • tearing or dry eyes
    • eye swelling and pain
    • photophobia

Some patients may also have reduced vision and other symptoms.

In addition, cervical syndrome can result in:

    • arm or finger numbness
    • swelling and soreness
    • prickiness or radioactive pain

There may be no position where the shoulder or arm can feel comfortable while sleeping. Moreover, patients may have a sense of obstruction while swallowing. They may also experience:

    • hoarseness
    • a dry cough
    • a sense of nausea and vomiting
    • chest tightness

    [ Cases ]

  • Spurs on cervical vertebrae
Strain and hardening of neck muscles may produce bone hyperplasia and evolve into bone spurs. The spurs would squeeze the adjacent blood vessels and nerves so that the neck, shoulder or head may have feelings of pulling, numbness and radioactive sore pain. Patients may experience dry eyes or tearing, pain in the eyes, blurred vision, etc.
    [ Cases ]
  • Ankylosing Spondylitis (AS)
Many factors may cause vertebrae to fuse together, calcify and develop spasticity in a big area. This fusing makes the spine less flexible and can result in a hunched-forward posture. Spondylitis often starts around the sacroiliac joints, and progresses up to the cervical vertebrae. Constant pain and stiffness occur in the area of the abnormal joining of bones and muscles, especially in the morning, and may last a long time. In severe cases, the pain and stiffness may be present all the time.
    [ Cases ]

4. Respiratory diseases

    • Asthma
An abnormal breathing condition. This can make breathing difficult and be accompanied by:

      • recurrent coughing
      • wheezing and shortness of breath
      • chest tightness or heaviness
      • getting tired easily

It may be aggravated when encountering cold air or air pollution. Many patients need to use a quick-relief inhaler quite often. Salbutamol and Terbutaline are common medications for asthma sufferers.
      [ Cases ]

    • Chronic laryngitis
The common symptoms of chronic laryngitis are:

      • hoarseness
      • weakness or loss of voice
      • a tickling sensation and rawness in the throat
      • dry cough
      • dry throat
      • throat secretions increase
      • chronic congestion and swelling of the vocal cords

In severe conditions, patients may have a severe spasmodic cough with a sticky secretion being discharged.
      [ Cases ]

    • Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
The common symptoms of COPD are:

      • breathing difficulty
      • chronic cough with sputum
      • tiredness
      • sweating too easily
      • shortness of breath, especially during physical activities (e.g. when bringing items upstairs)
      • chest tightness and heaviness
      • chest pain

      As a result:

      • many patients cannot live without medication
      • some patients are woken up by their own abnormal snoring
      • some patients need an oxygen respirator when in serious condition

      [ Cases ]

5. Depression

      • Depression
Stimulated or excessive stress leads to a problem in the nerves of the brain. Symptoms occur most of the day, nearly every day and may include:

        • feelings of sadness, tearfulness, emptiness or hopelessness
        • loss of interest or pleasure in most or all normal activities
        • sleep disturbances
        • often reduced appetite
        • tiredness and lack of energy
        • slowed thinking, speaking or body movements
        • abnormal feelings in the head: headaches, head heavy or distention in the head
        • frequent or recurrent thoughts of death, suicidal thoughts, suicide attempts or suicide
        • severe clinical depression may affect the patient’s life, work and length of life

        [ Cases ]

6. Heart disease

  • Heart disease
Heart disease is a general term for all heart related illnesses, it includes: rheumatic heart disease, congenital heart disease, hypertensive heart disease, coronary heart disease, myocarditis, and many other heart related illnesses. Patients suffering from heart disease commonly experience palpitations, chest distension, difficulty breathing, chest pain, irregular bouts of general-body weakness, sleep apnea, and other symptoms. Sadly many people clearly suffering from the aforementioned symptoms are not diagnosed with heart disease. In fact, there are countless cases of sudden deaths caused by no apparent reason only to be confirmed to be caused by heart disease upon autopsy. In our professional opinion, we must embrace a holistic approach rather than relying solely on drugs or surgical means in order to cure heart disease.

7. Hemorrhoids

  • Hemorrhoids
Hemorrhoids also called piles. There are two kinds of hemorrhoids: internal hemorrhoids and external hemorrhoids. Mild symptoms include painless bleeding during bowel movements. The symptoms may be intermittent and hemorrhoids may stay inside the anus (the feeling of swelling and heavy at the anus). If the hemorrhoids prolapse the anus during bowel movement, it may automatically revert. However, when symptoms are severe, hemorrhoids must be reverted manually. Most patients have anal fissure or bleeding during bowel movement. Severe cases may result in anemia. In general, severe cases can be a combination of internal and external. The internal one may prolapse or extend beyond the anus all the time. The external one can become irritated and erode through the skin and lead to sudden bleeding. If a blood clot forms inside an external hemorrhoid, the pain can be sudden and severe. Patients may feel itchy, swollen or irritated in the region of the anus.
